Hi All,
Just walked in! Had a lovely dinner this evening, was fortunate enough to get Whitebait for the first time ever, it was fatastic! Chris wrapped some in a napkin for Mouse so she had a doggy bag for later.
We sat on a very small table next to a lovely couple from Ludlow but originally from the North of England. They both had a subtle Newcastle accent with a hint of Scottish from thirteen years spent in Edinburgh where they brought up their two children. I was much admired and was pleased to hear about their old Labrador who had been a gun dog. From the sounds of it, he was of a similar type to Lordy. They had described him as black with a reddish hue to his coat, sounds very distinguished!
Both of them were retired and had moved to Shropshire for the sheer beauty & pace of the place, I must admit that they looked quite young for a retired couple and was surprised that they no longer went to work. They would be the perfect couple for a dog like me, lots of walks & visits to nice places with undivided attention & never being left for long periods of time. Maybe they would like another dog? I hope after meeting me they might consider homing one, I heard mummy saying she had found me through The Jack Russell Rescue, although I hasten to add I was not in need of rescue! Just a change of circumstance!
That reminds me, I hope you are all ok. How is Bubsie doing? I have a message for you Bub's!
I have learnt a lot recently and reckon that if we were to meet up again, I might be able to show you a thing or two......!!!!
Its late now, horses waiting to be shut in for bed and yard duty to fulfill.
Night Night
Love Poppy xx
PS. Whitebait is delicious! Who said fish is for cats!
