Hi All,
Today mummy brought back a new sheepskin! The old one (the one Mouse and I had modified) was put in the washing machine. Before doing this, it was tidied it up with scissors. Mouse and I had torn a 6" strip off the bottom (widest part) which had left two thin 'flappy' corners. These were trimmed off and Mouse and I were given one each as treat to shred in the kennel. Somehow, I don't think the new sheepskin was for us after all and the old one is also unlikely to be ours after washing either!
Mmmm, Lordy just told me he overheard a conversation about sheepskins earlier today. It would seem that we are no longer allowed sheepskin in our baskets either! We have shredded two now and mummy doesnt trust us, the trim off the old one would be the last 'The last' said with a pointy finger directed at me!
Yoda & Bovril had sheepskins each, they were then called 'sheepies', as they never chewed theirs up, they were used on the back of the sofa where they would lie like bookends ready to bark at passers by.
Lordy told me they had lots of nice bedding bought for them over the years. Yoda had her very own sleeping bag which she liked to bury down and sleep, even if it was hot! Its comes as no surprise then that she did indeed smell like an old hoover bag!
Bov as I have already told you, was the opposite and liked to know what wa going on, she prefered beds with optimal viewing possibilities!
This brings me to the saying 'What a fine example of a Jack Russell!' I will explain where this comes from, daft as it may seem even Chris perkins said it!
Mummy used to stand Bovril like a show dog, cup her 'snurdy' little face in one hand and with the other, hold the tip of her tail and exclaim (in the silliest of voices) 'what a fine example of a Jack Russell!' Bovril loved the attention, Chris would laugh his head off! Chris perkins, in on this daft behaviour would join in! She loved Bovril too and shared in the admiration!
Of course Bovril really was 'a fine example of a Jack Russell!' she had a very pretty face and a lovely action, referred to as the 'dressage walk' as dogs go it was a good walk..... A bit like the difference between Izzy and Spiderman. Izzy glides compared to her flat footed companion Spider. Anyway wont bore you with that, have to go now.
Later. xx
