As it was the 'Briggadeer's' birthday recently, (yes I know the correct spelling is Brigadier but Brigg's is a deer stalker so Briggadeer is more suitable!) mummy did a birthday card for her of her dog. 'Cromwell' is a Springer Spaniel like Gemma (Chris' dog who lives in Wales with his father) he is liver and white rather than black and white. Cromwell is still a bit of a puppy and not fully grown into his body yet, his legs look a little long at the moment, he still has some 'filling out" to do. Mummy has painted him in the trees as the leaves are now starting to grow and the warmer days are slowly bringing the plants to life. As Springers tend to 'firtle' about in the undergrowth looking for things...things usually being pheasants, rats, squirrels etc, I thought this was a good way to show this type of dog, I know in the past mummy has struggled to draw Gemma because she doesn't keep still long enough, this earn't her the nick name "Jelly Dog"!
