Wedding nerves.

Hello everyone,

How are you all?

I know I have been fairly rubbish at keeping up with my blogg, Mummy has been far too busy with her wedding preparations and working full time doing her graphics. Finally after protest I am here to tell you what I have been up to recently.

I mentioned mummy doing her graphics, she is full time in a studio and guess what, I go into work with her! Her boss is brill and said he didn't mind as I am well behaved. (I still have to bark occasionally just incase!) Mummy took my special den which I sit in next to her desk and have my water in her Alcatraz prison mug (I am such a cool dog now!).

As I am now 'working terrier' I better tell you about everyone in the office, starting with the boss Steve. He is pretty cool, very laid back and eats masses of chocolate and cake (which mummy is trying very hard to avoid!) he does lots of sport and works hard which keeps him slim. (mummy has to do that without eating chocolate to keep slim!) BR (Big Rob) comes in a couple of days a week, I like his silly voices and chuntering, he makes me laugh! His job varied, he is on the phone quite a lot talking nicely to people and getting quotes. I think he would prefer to be in acting, he has some fantastic phrases (most of which go over my head but are probably clever thesbian quotes from famous writers!) Finally there is the lovely Krissie with her amazingly long legs! Krissie does the accounts and very fast typing. Mummy and Krissie have horses in common so they regularly bore Steve and me with equine natter. Krissie has gone camping this week with her husband (who I have also met), we were worried about the weather spoiling her holiday but I think she will have a good time, it has not been wet her while she has been away.

This week mummy is not in the office, Steve was very kind and let her take the week out to get on top of all the jobs waiting at home (good job too as she was not sleeping). Chris the builder has been busy at home with building work on the house which has been in the pipeline for ages.  With the move to Norfolk looming, the house is being tidied up to go on the market, it has all come at once which is a little stressful but thankfully we are through the worst now.  The bathroom and kitchen ceiling have been re-plastered, the patio relaid with safe steps, steps have been made up to the orchard (much better for me & Mouse!) new guttering and facia boards for the house and a new hot water tank. The garden has been landscaped with all the big trees and bushes dug out, gravel has been laid.....yadder yadder. Mouse was very releived that her bones had not been disturbed and has taken advantage of the new soft soil to dig a huge crater in pursuit of mice, right in the middle of the newly lanscaped bank infront of the kitchen wondow. The hole is about two feet deep and accross, we are very proud of that. We also dug a massive hole by the shed to trip Chris up. He is not amused, mummy will fill the holes in today, I don't think she was very amused either.

I guess I should update you on the run up to the wedding, the hen weekend was a success, mummy hates hen parties so opted for a creative weekend at home. The end result was a fabulous mosaic table top which she, her sister Amy and most of her friends made between them (huddled under a gazeebo in the rain!) They also did a Karaoke outside in the evening. (Less said about that the better, lets just say that it was 'tuneful!'

There has been a fair amount of 'twoing and froing' with the horses too, originally the plan was to use Chris's horse Billy (everyone round here is called Chris! in this case Chris P) with his cart to take Chris & mummy from the church to the reception. Unfortunately, even though there had been some practice, Billy is too unpredicatable to risk something going wrong on the day. Mummy says 'hard work tames lion' but as he is not her horse so she has decided to ride Wizz with Chris on Spider instead. (Don't think Spider will be very pleased about that!) Mummy has even made them ostrich feather plumes to wear. They do look fantastic and having practiced with them on yesterday looks to be coming together nicely!

The wedding dress rehearsal was the funniest, mummy was worried about frightening the horses with her long dress so she decided to have a bit of a practice. This consisted of several rustling bin liners, a large sheet and a piece of plastc bag attached to her head. I was so embarrased, she looked ridiculous but had managed to recreate a scary outfit to try out with the horses. It was no surprise that Spid & Wizz were not in the slightest bit interested, they waltzed on the yard, shoved mummy out of the way and hung round the feed room expecting supper. Bit of an anti climax really, no snorting, no shying, Wizz tried to eat part of mummys outfit & Spider stood on the bottom of the sheet and wouldnt move.
Rhearsal over, everyone is happy the horses will perform on the day just down to mummys horsey friends to plait and polish them on Saturday morning!

Thought I should mention, there is just a slight snag, mummy was going to use her sheepskin rugs to hide the saddles and protect her dress. Unfortunately, the one for her saddle was slightly modified yesterday by Mouse & I. We had a great game of tug of war, silent tug of war! Mummy hadn't noticed the reduction of her rug until she walked in the lounge last night and found pieces all over the floor! As it was too late to chastise us, we are well clear of the 'dog house!' (must remember that for future mischeif!) Looks like she is in pursuit of a replacement today...Oops!

Anyway, better go the post is due, I need to get ready to look out on the back of the sofa so I bark at the postman!
