The Postman

Hi ya'll,

I have been meaning to tell you about our work days with Chris. As you know we go to work in Kings Forest, that includes me on the days that mummy can't take me to the office.
We have quite a routine now, Chris usually arrives just after the secretary before nine am. The drive to work includes a rough track, we know exactly how far it is to park from the bumps in the road, we are so used to the uncomfortable last section of journey that I know exactly when the car will stop and we can all get out for morning patrol!

Once parked, the three of us fly out, check who is in the car park to bark at then race each other to the front door of the office to see the secretary. Mouse and I often have a play fight before we go in, just so any other dogs which may be watching us, know we can handle ourselves and that this part of the forest is ours! We don't like intruders on our lawn and where possible guard it at all times!

Mornings are pretty straight forward, Mouse empties the bin, Hurry unplugs the secretaries computer (at least once) by insisting on lying under her desk. I like to sit behind her, between the back rest and her lower back, I am allowed to do this as apparently I help to keep her back warm, what she doesn't realise is that she is keeping me warm! If I am not sat in this position I sit in my dog hole on a shelf in Chris's office. The dog hole is basically a soft padded cube with a hole in it for me to get inside. I generally lie with my nose peeping out unless of course it is particularly cold then I will seek a willing lap. Mouse likes to 'hogg' the fan heater if it is really cold, she sits there so long that she dries her nose out and has to be told to move! If she is not there then she can generally be found in the basket by the radiator. (Call this a deer dog? She likes her home comforts does Mouse!)

The postman arrives later on in the morning, we anticipate his arrival every day and take it in turns to look out for him. The secretary often warns us when she see's his car which allows us to prepare for his arrival. I bet you are thinking we bark don't you? Well you are wrong, we sit patiently by the door in a line and wait. We wait because the postman gives us each a biscuit, yes, a biscuit every single morning! This is the highlight of the day for us, we love postie and he loves us because we don't bark at him or bite his trouser legs.

Time for bed now, will tell you about Hurry and his old mates tomorrow.
xx
