I'm back!
I found out that Mouse has compared me to a Gypsy dog! Apparently Lurchers are very cool, the scrap man that came last week to pick up the oil tank had one. Mummy loves him, his name is Brock, he's black & white & does indeed look like a badger. He is a bit scarred, mummy is very descreet about what the scrap man uses him for but it sounds dangerous! Mummy soft as she is, gave Brock one of our bones from the stash in the fridge! It was big one as well!!!!! I hope there are still some left for us!!! I will come back to Brock another time, I am sure Lordy can fill the gaps for me to tell you!
Back to the bit I am avoiding...yes, I am in the dog house!
While mummy was in the shower I climbed on the work surface & yes I took a box of matches & yes a role of sticky tape. I love sticky tape, its a bit like eating a beetle, I know the comparison is weird but the outside is shiny and difficult to chew & the inside cardboard, once it softens with saliva gets very soft & mushy, it can be shredded into tiny pieces.
I offered Mouse the matches as she had let me have the last toilet roll. (We take toilet roll chewing in turns and collect them from the bathroom when a roll is empty.) Mouse often asks for them too early, 'nusling' the full roles on the holder and chuntering at whoever happens to be in the bathroom.
Mouse was far too distracted with a moth on the glass doors in the kitchen to play with my gift so I decided to shred the match box myself. In doing so, I scatttered the matches everywhere between the kitchen & the boot room.
I had saved the best till last and was just starting the job of softening the cardboard on the sticky tape reel (the best bit) when mummy came back in the kitchen. Showered, dressed and wearing weird spongy things in her hair making her look like Medusa (Lordy's comment not mine, I have no idea who this comparison is...?)
The reel was snatched from my mouth and mummy shouted at me, I could tell she was very cross so I crouched, put my ears flat, (to really emphasise my guilt) and looked as sorry as possible, I shivered too. This worked, mummy softened and within a second it was over & back to the task of preparing my breakfast.
We spent the day in the stable while mummy went to work Chris put a wire door on Spider's stable so we can see out. Its much better than being shut inside the house as we can watch the rabbits in the fields. Over the past few days Mouse & I have studied their patterns and are devising a plan of action based on their movements. Lordy is helping us by logging the times & locations they come in and out of the woods to eat grass.
This will definitely increase our chances of catching one!
Bye for now, time for my walk & the lady who rides spider is coming.
...Oh, forgot to tell you, Spider chucked her off on Wednesday, mummy was terrified she was hurt. Fortunately Jo was wearing a waistcoat that inflates with air, it worked really well. Rather than be upset about the fall, Jo was made up that her hi-tech outfit had done the job. It was the first time it was been tested in a real situation. Mummy was very relieved she was ok, she is quite fond of Jo and has been helping her get her confidence riding, this is a bit of a set back.
Spider is now in boot camp! With the boss back on board, he is definitely behaving himself!!!!
Catch you later. xx
